Basic facts regarding installation of SPAUN
products:
-
The Dish starts the system at -35dBm
-
RG6 loses 8dBm per 100 feet
-
RG11 loses 5dBm per 100 feet
-
Each Spaun piece has a dB gain or loss
-
At every receiver the dB level must be
within a range of -25dB and -55dB
-
Throughout the whole design the dB level
MUST stay above -55dB or signal will be lost
Depending on the type of system being installed,
the following number of coax cables must come
from the dish into an amplifier or multi-switch:
-
Dual LNB-2 coax cables
-
Dual LNBs-4 coax cables
-
Dual LNBs & one single LNB-4 coax cables
-
Stacked LNBs require 1 coax cable for each
LNB being used.
Every receiver needs a coax cable coming
directly from a multi-switch; splitters cannot
be used to add additional receivers to the
system.
SPAUN LNB Dial Settings
In reference to SPAUN DUO-SAT MULTISWITCHES
-
When connecting directly to the LNBs the
dial is set on 18V.
-
When connecting through a built-in
multiswitch the dial is set on 22 kHz.
In reference to SPAUN MULTI-SAT MULTISWITCHES
-
For DirecTV® systems all LNB dials must be set
on 22kHz
-
For DishPro® systems all LNB dials must be set
on DiSEqC
It
is best to use
high quality compression
fitted coax cables in all
multiswitch installations to minimize insertion
loss and prevent unwanted equipment damage from
moisture.
