Selectable FM trap reduces FM signals (88-108 MHz) -15 dB to prevent overload, tunable FM trap reduces a 3 MHz band width by -12 dB. Both adjustable — switchable without opening the housing.
Transistor burn-out virtually eliminated with specialized circuitry featuring fast recovery diode that protects against lightning-caused pulses. Operating temperatures -40° to +140° F. 117 VAC UL and CSA approved power supply is included. (Does not include F-connectors.)
NOTE: Preamplifiers and/or amplifiers only amplify the signal your antenna receives. They cannot extend the receiving range of an antenna or help pull in signal. Also, DO NOT use the higher gain models within 35 miles of your transmitters.

This Amplifier works Great Bob - Sheffield Villa, Sheffield Villa - 3/27/2012 Installed this on my solid source antenna in the attic that was having problems with some of my stations once activated all channels came in clear with no Break up of the signal and I have over 6 sets connected to my system. Allen R. - Roseboro, NC - 5/24/2013 My antenna, the Winegard HD8200U Heavy Duty Platinum VHF/UHF/FM HDTV Antenna done a great job by itself picking up 41 channels but when I added this preamp, I started getting around 19 more channels I didn't get before. Now I get approximately 60 channels total where I live here in NC. I even pick up stations in Myrtle Beach and Florence, SC. now which is over 100 miles away! Love it! ?
Works as advertised. Helps to lock in weaker stations. InTheFringe - Sturgeon Bay, WI - 8/12/2013 Our home is located "in the fringe", about 60 miles North of the Green Bay, Wisconsin transmitters. We use a high gain UHF antenna but it is mounted low, at about 20 feet above ground. Our reception was good until the leaves popped out on some trees located about 100 feet uphill from the antenna. Our reception was blocked by these trees on three channels. The channels affected were fading into pixels, at times watchable, at times not. I decided to try this preamp instead of the expense of erecting a tower (to get above the tree line). I knew that a preamp will not create miracles by making a solid signal appear where there is none. Getting reception with a low mounted antenna through a line of trees is tough.
The preamp did make quite a difference, though. Channels that were breaking up into pixels are now solid. One channel that was never viewable is now coming in at least 60 per cent of the time. Quite the improvement! We were able to watch the pre-season football game on our local NBC 26 solid where before it would be breaking up into pixels at least half the time. I went into the menu of the TV and found signal strengths of 95-100 where I used to have 23-30. Signal to noise is good and hovers around 17-23dB. I have three high-power FM broadcasters in the area and am glad that this preamp has an FM trap build in. The FM's are located about 8 miles away on a tall bluff off the side of my antenna.
Bottom line: The preamp does what it is suppose to do, it cleaned up marginal signals into usable signals. It seems immune to the strong FM Broadcast stations located nearby. It saved me the expense of moving the antenna to a taller location.
