Used to overcome any losses in coax cable from the antenna to your TV.
This mast mounted pre-amp takes one 75 Ohm input and has a gain of 17 dB VHF and 19 dB UHF. Features a selectable FM Trap. An efficient way to make up for the loss from long cable lengths and splitters. This amplifer also helps to make up for line loss and insertion loss.
Chromstar 2000 Series Antenna Pre-Amplifiers
Features 75 ohm input for convenience and easier installation. Universal housing can be used with any off-air TV antenna. Made of high impact ABS material, mast mounted for easy installation. Flexible polyethylene boot covers on 75 ohm. Zinc-plated steel hardware; all mounting hardware included.
Selectable FM trap reduces FM signals (88-108 MHz) -15 dB to prevent overload, tunable FM trap reduces a 3 MHz band width by -12 dB. Both adjustable — switchable without opening the housing.
Transistor burn-out virtually eliminated with specialized circuitry featuring fast recovery diode that protects against lightning-caused pulses. Operating temperatures -40° to +140° F. 117 VAC UL and CSA approved power supply is included. (Does not include F-connectors.)
NOTE: Preamplifiers and/or amplifiers only amplify the signal your antenna receives. They cannot extend the receiving range of an antenna or help pull in signal. Also, DO NOT use the higher gain models within 35 miles of your transmitters.

I purchased this in conjunction with a Winegard HD 7694P antenna. I bought it to boost the signal through a long cable run and a splitter. I get signal strengths in the high 90s...almost perfect! I didnt try configuring my antenna without it so Im not sure what the signal strength would be without it. However my neighbor who has a similar configuration gets signal strengths in the 80s so I be

You have to make sure you have good coax connections between the amp and the power supply.Check all runs with a DVM.Well designed saves you running a separate power line to the antenna.
Great BANG for the buck! Priced right.

I have the same product and it works very well at amplifing the low power stations and not over-riding the powerful ones. Easy to install. Bought the second one for my son for a Christmas gift.WE have a mix of low power and high power stations in the Dallas area and this amp is great.
