Loud fan noise, water inside housing Nick - Boston, MA - 5/14/2015 3:12:07 AM Bought 2 of these and 3 winters later they're pretty much toast. Water got inside one of them, and now the picture is obstructed. Both them are VERY loud, from what I assume is the fan running endlessly. Had to start unplugging them at night so I could sleep without the noise even though they are installed outside.
I'm going to try switching them to DC power in the hope that the fan and heater only run when powered with AC (Although my guess is the fan runs on DC as most electronic fans do). Hopefully a quick teardown, cleaning and re-securing will fix the problem(s), worst case I'll just cut the fan wires altogether and replace the one with water in it.
