Winegard Antenna Overview
|
|
The first products Winegard Company designed and manufactured, almost 50
years ago, were outdoor antennas. Today Winegard still manufactures
reliable, quality outdoor antennas that meet all reception needs - from
deepest fringe to close-in metropolitan areas - and encompass
multi-directional outdoor antennas, in addition to omni directional and
bi-directional designs. |
|
Platinum HD - Designed with the
professional installer in mind, the 75 ohm down lead coupler simply
snaps into place for fast, easy assembly; eliminates the need for
matching transformers when using coax cable. Steel hardware is zinc
plated for maximum corrosion resistance; flexible polyethylene boot
covers protect connections from the weather. Engineered for extra
strength with double boom braces, high-impact ABS girder design and
support insulators. Platinum HD antennas deliver powerful VHF
performance and offer additional 1 dB to 2 dB higher gain on VHF and
UHF, important for weak signal areas. Outstanding UHF reception achieved
by precise director spacing and highly efficient corner reflectors.
|
 |
Prostar 1000 UHF - Outstanding UHF
reception from precise director spacing with efficient corner reflector
system. Weak UHF signals captured and reflected with minimal loss to
driven element for more uniform gain on UHF frequencies on Channels
14-69. Built-in 300 ohm VHF coupling block.
|
 |
Prostar 1000 UHF/VHF/FM - Metallic
silver elements with high-gloss finish give an esthetic look with
practical weather protection. Double boom on longer flat line models for
extra strength and rigidity. Dual action director/reflector screen
serves as reflector for UHF signals and director for VHF signals.
Tretrapole Unique driven element combines signals from VHF and UHF
sections with very low loss. Exclusive wrap-around mast clamps with four
locking jaws cannot crush antenna boom or mast. Automatic hardware
unfolds in seconds and locks tightly in place. Chromstar preamplifiers
are available for even better performance in tough signal areas.
|
 |
Prostar Yagi - Prostar Yagi VHF/FM
antennas have the same construction features as our VHF/UHF/FM and
combine simple straight forward mechanical design with Winegard tried
and tested electronic features for the best low priced antennas ever
produced. Combine these antennas with Chromstar 2000 preamplifiers, and
cover a wider range of reception conditions, even in tough marginal
reception areas! Offer your customer flexibility in solving his
reception problems at a reasonable a price.
|
 |
Urban Antennas - Omni directional
for install-&-forget convenience; no rotator system needed, built-in
preamplifier to boost signal strength—up to six times the received
signal on VHF, nine times on UHF. Easy to install with hand tools on any
antenna mast or light-duty antenna mount. Includes antenna, power
supply, 50' 75 ohm coaxial cable, 6' TV set cable, hardware, mounting
bracket. Good companion for digital satellite systems.

Sixty-eight channels, bi-directional, excellent reception in
metropolitan areas. Bracket for mounting on pole or flat surface

SquareShooter - The SquareShooterâ„¢
solves problems no other antenna can solve. By far, the majority of the
new antenna market today is directed at the Urban/Metropolitan locale.
And the fastest growing sector of the market is in the Off-Air reception
of HDTV broadcasts. The vast majority of these HDTV unit sales will be
to these markets. The only current way to receive true HDTV resolution
(1080i) is with an Off-Air antenna or satellite broadcast signals. |

About selecting a
suitable antenna using CEA certifications
|
Selecting the right antenna can be an easy task when you have the right
information. One valuable tool is the Consumer Electronics Association’s
(CEA) antenna selector web site:
www.antennaweb.org. By typing your
address, you can find out which TV channels are available in your area,
including the direction of the transmit towers and the type of antenna
needed to receive these stations. On each antenna box, you will see the
CEA antenna selector chart classifying the antenna. For example, if the
web site says you need a medium directional antenna, choose the antenna
that is classified as a medium directional or better. The Antenna
Reference Chart shows the
CEA Classification for all Channel Master antennas.
|
 |
|
When purchasing an antenna, look for the CEA-certified antenna mark for
outdoor antennas (which corresponds to the colors on your stations
list). There is also a CEA-certified indoor antenna mark, which does not
apply to this mapping system, but certifies that your indoor antenna
will work in geographic areas that are appropriate for indoor antennas.
