If you move or change equipment,
you may have to redo your satellite setup.
It sounds like a daunting task but it’s not hard. In many cases your DIRECTV receiver will automatically select the correct setup and you´ll just have to confirm the choice. DIRECTV Satellite Dish Setup is easy, if you have the tools.
Our DIRECTV self-installation guide will take you through checking your dish setup, checking your signal strengths, and resetting your dish. The only tool you’ll need is your remote control.
This guide is intended for DIRECTV high-definition receivers, DVRs, and clients but it can also be used for standard definition receivers made since 2003. You will need to be in front of the receiver, DVR, or client; this guide should not be used to change settings on a DIRECTV-ready TV.
This guide can also be used for setting up tailgate setups or temporarily repurposing a receiver. Remember, though, you should not bring a receiver from your home to someone else´s home... this is against DIRECTV policy and if the receiver connects to the internet even for only a moment, it could inform DIRECTV that it´s been moved and your account could be flagged.
