Description

TII lightning surge protector with female-F-to-female-F ground block guards electronic equipment from lightning and power-induced surges on coaxial drop cables. It’s specifically designed for today’s broadband-over-coax-cable distribution networks and typically used to protect digital set-top boxes, stereos, home equipment systems, sensitive internet cable modems, personal computers, digital satellite TV systems, big screen TVs and high-end HDTV sets. It’s also used to protect satellite receivers in the cable headend.

TII’s lightning surge protector uses a patented proprietary coaxial gas tube equipped with an integral fail-short mechanism. This shunts both the coaxial cable’s center conductor and sheath for a common path to the ground. The DC breakdown voltage of the protector provides superior protection against transient surges, yet is compatible with network-powered applications.

Key Features
  • Female-F-to-female-F coax ground block connection
  • Patented In-Line® coaxial gas tube lightning surge protection
  • The protection element resets after each over voltage event
  • Not recommended for satellite TV systems

Features

  • Unique Patented In-Line® Coaxial Gas Tube Lightning Surge Protection

  • TiiXX’s patented proprietary coaxial gas tube surge protector is equipped with an integral failshort mechanism for a power-cross condition which shunts both the coaxial cable’s center conductor and sheath for a common path to ground. The DC breakdown voltage of the protector provides superior protection against transient surges, yet is compatible with network powered applications.

  • The protection element is designed to reset after each over voltage event.

  • When properly connected the protector is environmentally sealed (15 psi) to prevent XXingress of moisture and humidity encountered in broadband pedestals, vaults, NIDs and stand alone applications.

  • Designed for HFC or FTTC Broadband Network application

  • Transparent To Analog/Digital Bi-directional Signal Transmission

  • Essential For DSS Type Wireless Applications

  • Provides Lightning Surge Protection For Customer Premises and Headend Equipment

  • Not recommended for use with satellite signals

  • Ideally suited to protect Broadband CATV subscriber’s “COSTLY” HDTV receivers, XXDVRs, cable modems, home networking components and interfaces from potentially damaging surges.

  • Will reduce “out of warranty” repair expense caused by surge lightning damage. XXReduces service outages by protecting against induced high-voltage surges that may appear on the center conductor of a coaxial drop cable.

  • Unique In-Line® design is impedance matched to 75 ohms and is virtually transparent XXto all analog or digital bi-directional signals transmitted from DC to 1.0 GHz.

Specs

TII’s cutting edge In-Line® Coaxial Lightning Surge Protectors protect personnel and customer premises equipment from lightning and power induced surges on coaxial drop cables. It is specifically designed for today’s Broadband Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) and Fiber-To-The-Curb (FTTC) distribution networks.

Key Product Features

Feels rugged and looks corrosion resistant. I dont detect any insertion loss. The screw lug easily accepts 8AWG stranded wire. I dont think the antenna has been hit by lightening yet so theres not much to say. If I see a hit and the TV still works Ill update this review.
