Upgraded from a SD reciever to the HR24. Very stylish looking compared to the other 2 DVRs I have and a much better response time with onscreen menus. Bill - Brandon, MS - 7/9/2014 9:36:53 AM After upgrading through DirecTV and always receiving outdated refurbished receivers that looked like they had been in a knife fight, I read about Solid Signal. I am very pleased with my purchase. Received the HR24 very quickly and a Solid Signal representative called the day I received to ask if I needed any assistance getting it set up. I would recommend this site to anyone looking to upgrade and tired of the service they receive from DirecTV and I will be using them in the future.
Finally some HD Joe - Fairfield, CA - 10/7/2013 11:20:29 PM My old dvr finally quit (9 years). I updated the dish, which I installed my self and the HR24 HD DVR. My old one was a tivo unit which it worked like a champ. The hr24 works even better, it is just a bit slow sometimes when changing channels. Recording a show or shows is much easier than my old dvr. I also added an AM21 unit for some local channels that are not carried by directv, that is so cool that those ota channels show up on the guide and I can record them also.
Finally a non piece of junk! Shooter McGee - Washington, ington DC - 3/28/2013 I am so happy with this DVR.The previous ones I had were pieces of you know what that took forever to respond...when they worked. After several replacements by DTV (with the same model of course) I knew it was time for an upgrade.I also had the Whole Home DVR service installed and its awesome!

HR24 is the best DirecTV DVR Dan the man - Atlanta, GA. - 3/28/2013 Purchase two new DirecTV DVRs model HR24 from SolidSignal.com. Read good reviews on the HR24 so I decided to upgrade my old HR20 and HR22 to the new HR24. After I received the new HR24 DVRs from SolidSignal.com and installed I was very satisfied with my decision to upgrade. Well worth the money to upgrade to the new DVRs. The speed of the HR24 is worth every dime I paid.
HR24 is great! DirecTV Fan. - Michigan, Michigan - 3/28/2013 The HR24 HD receiver from DirecTV is very good in my opinion.I have an HR20 and a HR21 and this machine is a lot smaller and quite a bit faster. This receiver does not ship with b band converters however so if you have an older slimline unit and its connected directly or say to a WB68 you will need to purchase the BBC modules OR upgrade to a SWM8 switch OR change out your lnb head in your sliml
Speed Speed Speed Brad - Charlotte, Charlotte - 3/28/2013 Finally A receiver that can change channels quickly. The older models (HR23 and older) are frustratingly slow. The HR24responds as you press the buttons on the remote.

A Must Have!!! LoveMyDVR - Birmingham, ingham AL - 3/28/2013 I tried twice to get this DVR from DIRECTV as an upgrade. Both times I was sent a refurbished HR22 and Ive been a DIRECTV customer since 1998.DIRECTV says that they have no idea what is being shipped which is ridiculous and just poor business. They really hacked me off.Only after I threatened to cancel my service did they tell me about the Solid Signal website.Thank you Solid Signal for s

Great DVR but no DirecTV discounts R. Ingham - St. Charles, Charles IL - 3/28/2013 I purchased a DirecTV satellite dish the HR24 DVR and the H25 receiver from Solid Signal. However because I did not get the equipment directly from DirecTV I lost the Whole Home $10/month discount. I received a letter from DirecTV stating that purchases from Solid Signal are not eligible for the discount. If I had known that I would have purchased and installed the satellite dish myself then ca

Dont order from DirecTV GET IT HERE!!! Ex Dish custome - Columbiana, mbiana Ala - 3/28/2013 The DIRECTV HR24 High Definition DVR was purchased after we let Dish Network go. First I ordered this unit from DirecTV and they sent me an older model HR21 or something I called and complained and they advised they never knew what they would be sending. I sent it back to DTV and ordered from Solid Siginal. Got the correct product and have never doubted the product for a minute. I love being able

Okie - Bartlesville, rtlesville O - 5/3/2011 Coming from an HR22-100 this was a *huge* upgrade!I knew the remote lag would be less but this really blew me away.It behaves and responds as fast as a non-dvr receiver. All remote functions receive a nearly instant response. There IS the occasional lag but its generally less than a second.I had originally tried CSR roulette with DirecTV and ended up with two replacement HR22s...which
