Recent Review: Danfront - Bossier City, LA, AL - 11/22/2015 Faster than standard Joey
Faster than standard Joey Danfront - Bossier City, LA, AL - 11/22/2015 11:33:06 AM I am using this unit with an Ethernet connection and not the wireless. It works great since all my dish equipment is wired to my home Ethernet network. When I called dish to activate the tech was insisting that the wireless Joey model would only work with the dish network supplied access point and not with the wired Ethernet. After telling him that he was wrong and to just please activate the unit he reluctantly activated the unit. Of course it worked and he was astonished that during his training they (dish) never told them (tech support personnel) that a wired Ethernet connection could be used too.
Overall I've been using this unit for about a year and I'm very happy with it.
A device that enables Internet connectivity throughout the Hopper Joey
System through a single co-axial cable; a HIC may be used when the Hopper cannot be connected directly to Ethernet. The HIC can be installed on any “Client” side ...
A diplexer-type device used to isolate a subnet of Hopper
and Joeys from a second subnet of Hopper and Joeys on an installation. This splits the home’s video network and prevents DVR-sharing outside of the subnet.

to tap the satellite feed for a Hopper (Host) and then split the connection between the Hopper (Host) and a Joey (Client) or HIC (Hopper Internet Connector).
