Mobile and Versatile
Light is the core theme of this cable. The inner fiber is made from
flexible materials so you do not have to worry about bending or
breaking. The inner fiber also has a small gauge, meaning that this
cable will be thin and easy to hide. Measuring at 45 meters (about 150
ft.) the Light Link is as tall as a light house!
The technology to convert the HDMI signal to light and back is housed in
the heads of this cable, eliminating the need for any repeaters. This
also means that there is no extra power required and no adapters are
necessary. The technology is advanced but the way you use it is simple,
just like the HDMI cable you are already accustomed to. One difference
however is the Light-Link is "directional" meaning there is a source
side and display side.
Since the Light-Link doesn't have to be plugged into a wall outlet, that
makes it a good solution for applications that do not have a power
source conveniently close by. This makes the Light-Link an excellent
choice over any extension solution that needs to be plugged in.
Easy to Use
Another factor that makes this cable shine above the rest is eliminating
possible points of failure. In a typical balun setup you have four HDMI
connections (source to sender and receiver to display), two RJ45
connections (possibly terminated by hand), and two power connections
from the baluns to the wall.
That is eight things that can come unplugged, plugged in the wrong way,
corroded over time or just need to be stuffed somewhere out of sight.
With the Light-Link, you have two plugs on a system that has already
been tested and can be easily verified end to end. Troubleshooting is
incredibly easy compared to any other setup.
