RAM Mounts Horizontal Mounting Base with Single Swing Arm (RAM-D-109HS-4U)

First off, I am pleased with how Solid Signal handled the order. It was quick and easy and I would buy there again. However, RAM missed on this design! You can not tighten the clamp enough to eliminate movement where the hexagon swivel is. This is a D sized mount (2 1/4) made for large/heavy units. I have used the C sized version of this mount for years on my boat. I was excited to try this version for new electronics. Unfortunately RAM redesigned this to allow rotating the tightening handle to various locations. This design change has introduced a place for movement. And YES, it does move. When tightened down, the mount still allows for significant movement at this new joint. While I have used numerous RAM mounts in the past, this is one that I can not recommend!
