Want to watch free HDTV in the Flint-Saginaw-Bay City TV market?  Solid Signal helps you cut the cord in Mid-Michigan!

From the decline of its auto industry to the current water crisis, it seems like everyone has heard of Flint, Michigan.  As a resident, you know not to judge your hometown by the headlines.  There are plenty of great things going on in and around “Vehicle City.”  General Motors continues to be a large employer, as are Flint’s hospitals, colleges, and university.  What is even more impressive is the dedication many “Flintstones” have for their beloved hometown.  Current redevelopment efforts continue to improve Flint’s downtown.  The area also has many passionate and talented artists, musicians, performers, and writers.  Community events such as “Back to the Bricks” and the Crim Festival of Races bring excitement to the area each year.  All this and more help make Flint a city poised for a glorious comeback.

Bay City is part of the Tri-Cities area, which includes Midland and Saginaw.  It’s located upon the Saginaw Bay and the Saginaw River.  With its proximity to the Great Lakes, shipping and shipbuilding once played a significant role in the area’s economy.  Today, healthcare and public schooling are Bay City’s biggest employers.  Auto manufacturing, farming, and banking also are prominent.  On the cultural side, Bay City is known for its many summer festivals.  The River Roar, St. Stan’s Polish Festival, and the Bay City Fireworks Festival are among the largest of Bay City’s bashes.  It also plays host to a popular film and music festival, living history reenactment, and more.  These and other cultural attractions add to the diverse character of Mid-Michigan’s city by the bay.

Saginaw is the largest of mid-Michigan’s Tri-Cities.  Like Flint, it once was an important industrial and manufacturer center during the 20th century.  While the grandeur of its auto manufacturing past has declined, some automotive factories still exist in the area.  The healthcare industry, local schools, and government also employ many in the Saginaw area.  A unique aspect of Saginaw’s character is its many distinct neighborhoods, including Downtown, Old Town, and Southwest Village.  Its many local arts and cultural attractions, some minor league sports teams, and plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities that add to Saginaw’s unique culture and character.

Best TV Antenna for the Flint-Saginaw-Bay City TV Market

To cut the cord, you need a TV antenna. But you can’t just buy any antenna and get the best over-the-air TV reception.  No two TV antennas are the same, and no two over-the-air viewing experiences are the same.  If you’re considering cutting the cord, keep these things in mind:

  • How far you live from your local TV transmitter locations.
  • The number of buildings, trees, and other obstructions between your home and the broadcast towers.
  • Which channels are your favorites?  This is important when choosing a VHF, UHF, or VHF/UHF antenna..

Why are these factors important?  Each one can affect the quality of your OTA TV reception and the number of TV programs you receive.  We can help you determine whether you need an indoor TV antenna or one of three types of outdoor TV antennas.  To help you better understand the process, we’ve compiled this handy guide to match you with the best TV antenna in Flint and the Tri-Cities. .
