Do you live in Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon, or York, Pennsylvania?  Then you reside in the greater Susquehanna Valley area.  This area begins with Harrisburg, the capital city of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  This city has played a significant role in American history during the Westward Migration, Civil War, and the Industrial Revolution.  By the 20th century, Harrisburg became a center for manufacturing, steel, and agriculture.  It's also a center for food services, which include chocolate-maker Hershey.  Being the capital of Pennsylvania, government also is a big employer in Harrisburg.

Is Lancaster your hometown?  Then you live in the “Red Rose City,” so nicknamed because the flower is the symbol of Britain’s House of Lancaster. During the American Revolution, the city served as the capital of the United States for a day on September 27, 1777.  The city then served as the capital of Pennsylvania from 1799 to 1812.  Today, Lancaster is the seat of Lancaster County, and its primary industries are healthcare, tourism, and public administration.  It’s also home of Park City Center, the largest shopping mall in the region.  It's also home to Central Market, the oldest continuously-operate farmers market in the country.  lancaster also has several historical landmarks, museums, and a substantial arts and music scene as well as local semi-professional and amateur sports.

Do you live in Lebanon?  If so, you live in a town that was once called Steitztown.  It was named after George Steitz, who founded the area in 1740.  The town was renamed Lebanon after the ancient Middle Eastern country.  Lebanon has many locations listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Chestnut Street Log House, Josiah Funck Mansion, and many more.  In addition to being the birthplace of many notable people, Lebanon is also known for its tradition of dropping and/or raising unique items and objects at midnight on New Year’s Eve.  The most famous of these objects is a 150-pound Lebanon bologna donated by Godshall’s Quality Meats.

If you call York home, you live in a city rich in American history.  It was founded in 1741 by settlers from the Philadelphia area who gave York its name in honor of the English city of the same name. Today, York is often called the “White Rose City” after the symbol of the House of York.  Its history lives on in many of its well-preserved history buildings located in its downtown area, such as the Golden Plough Tavern that was built in 1741.  Manufacturing plays a big role in York’s economy.  The city is home to York Barbell, a Harley-Davidson factory, and two major makers of hydro-power water turbines.  The city also hosts the popular York Fair, as well as many other theater, heritage, and music attractions, making it a great place to live.

Your TV Antenna in Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York

To cut the cord, you need a TV antenna. But you can’t just buy any antenna and get the best over-the-air TV reception.  No two TV antennas are the same, and no two over-the-air viewing experiences are the same.  If you’re considering cutting the cord, keep these things in mind:

  • How far you live from your local TV transmitter locations.
  • The number of buildings, trees, and other obstructions between your home and the broadcast towers.
  • Which channels are your favorites?  This is important when choosing a VHF, UHF, or VHF/UHF antenna..

Why are these factors important?  Each one can affect the quality of your OTA TV reception and the number of TV programs you receive.  We can help you determine whether you need an indoor TV antenna or one of three types of outdoor TV antennas.  To help you better understand the process, we’ve compiled this handy guide to match you with the best TV antenna.
