Do you want to watch free HDTV in Spokane?  Let Solid Signal helps you cut the cord in eastern Washington!

Did you know that Spokane gets its name from the Spokane people?  The name means “children of the sun,” and the presence of plentiful game brought these tribes to the area roughly 13,000 years ago.  They made first contact with white explorers early in the 19th century, after the Northwest Fur Company sent two trappers west of the Rocky Mountains.  Geographer David Thompson later explored the area and established two trading houses here.  This led to further European-American settlement and the founding of Fort Spokane in 1880.  Three years later, the discovery of gold and silver brought more growth.  By 1910, the population grew to more than 104,000. This rapid growth and continued development earned Spokane the nickname of the “Inland Empire.”

The Inland Empire of Spokane continues to thrive today.  The city serves as the seat of Spokane County and the economic and cultural hub of the entire metropolitan area.  Spokane continues to evolve into a service-oriented economy, with healthcare being the leading industry.  The opening of River Park Square Mall in 1999 encouraged other downtown redevelopment projects.  Spokane's main art districts in the Davenport Arts District, Garland Business District, and East Sprague also continue to thrive.  The dozens of nearby lakes and rivers are popular swimming, boating, and fishing attractions. People also enjoy skiing, hiking, and biking in the mountains.  All of these things and many more continue to lead Spokane’s continued revitalization!

Cutting the Cord and Sports

Sports in Spokane

Cutting the cord limits the amount of professional sports you can watch on TV.  This is due to agreements between the various teams and TV networks.  We’re sympathetic to sports fans who want to see their favorite pro teams and enjoy free HDTV.  Our Cord Cutter's Sports Guide gives you a way to enjoy your favorite pro baseball, basketball, football, and hockey teams after you cut the cord.

Best TV Antenna for the Spokane TV Market

To cut the cord, you need a TV antenna. But you can’t just buy any antenna and get the best over-the-air TV reception.  No two TV antennas are the same, and no two over-the-air viewing experiences are the same.  If you’re considering cutting the cord, keep these things in mind:

  • How far you live from your local TV transmitter locations.
  • The number of buildings, trees, and other obstructions between your home and the broadcast towers.
  • Which channels are your favorites?  This is important when choosing a VHF, UHF, or VHF/UHF antenna..

Why are these factors important?  Each one can affect the quality of your OTA TV reception and the number of TV programs you receive.  We can help you determine whether you need an indoor TV antenna or one of three types of outdoor TV antennas.  To help you better understand the process, we’ve compiled this handy guide to match you with the best TV antenna in Spokane.
