Want free HDTV in the Tulsa TV market?  Solid Signal helps you save money by cutting the cord in T-Town.

Tulsa is a city rich in American history.  The area originally was settled between 18280 to 1836 by the Lochapoka Band of Creek Native Americans.  The tribe settled under the Creek Council Oak Tree at the present day intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and 18th Street.  They named the new settlement “Tallasi,” which means “old town.”  Five other tribes who’d been relocated to Oklahoma from the southern U.S. joined the Creek in Tallasi.  Although Oklahoma was not yet a state during the Civil War, Tulsa saw plenty of battles.  It was officially incorporated as a city on January 18, 1898.  Its first oil well was established sometime in 1901, which led to further economic development and rapid growth of the city and the area.  This includes being the Birthplace of Route 66, the creation of Western Swing music, and so much more.

Today's residents live in a thriving modern day city with a revitalized infrastructure and economy.  Being nicknamed the “Oil Capital of the World,” Tulsa is home to many international oil and gas companies.  Tulsa’s diverse economy also includes several other industries such as aerospace, finance, and technology.  Tulsa isn’t all work and no play.  The city is home to many museums and a diverse collection of arts and cultural venues.  Tulsa’s many festivals and culture events continue to be a big draw for locals and tourists.  Tulsa also offers many outdoor attractions such as the Tulsa Zoo, Tulsa State Fair, and Oktoberfest.  There are several minor league and college sports teams to enjoy.  And if you like BBQ and other southern homestyle food, Tulsa is your place.  No wonder why you enjoy living in T-Town!

*This TV market has many low-powered TV stations not listed here.  As a cord-cutter, you might or might not be able to receive some or all of the programming from these stations, depending upon a variety of factors.

Cutting the Cord and Sports

Sports in Tulsa

Cutting the cord limits the amount of professional sports you can watch on TV.  This is due to agreements between the various teams and TV networks.  We’re sympathetic to Oklahoma sports fans who want to watch their favorite pro teams on TV.  Our Cord Cutter's Sports Guide gives you a way to enjoy your favorite pro baseball, basketball, football, and hockey teams after you cut the cord.

Your TV Antenna in the Tulsa TV Market

To cut the cord, you need a TV antenna. But you can’t just buy any antenna and get the best over-the-air TV reception.  No two TV antennas are the same, and no two over-the-air viewing experiences are the same.  If you’re considering cutting the cord, keep these things in mind:

  • How far you live from your local TV transmitter locations.
  • The number of buildings, trees, and other obstructions between your home and the broadcast towers.
  • Which channels are your favorites?  This is important when choosing a VHF, UHF, or VHF/UHF antenna..

Why are these factors important?  Each one can affect the quality of your OTA TV reception and the number of TV programs you receive.  We can help you determine whether you need an indoor TV antenna or one of three types of outdoor TV antennas.  To help you better understand the process, we’ve compiled this handy guide to match you with the best TV antenna.

Cutting the Cord in Tulsa

A TV antenna gives you the most channels and best reception, and it eliminates your cable bills.  Do you need another reason to become a cord-cutter?  Let us match you with the best TV antenna for your situation.  If you’re moving to another TV market, we can help you there, too.  Call us at 877.312.4547 for antenna recommendations, installation guidance, and everything else you need to cut the cord.
