Vericom 3x1 HDMI Switch with Intelligent Auto Switch (WS1019)

It's very interesting, I've read the two reviews here and I have had the exact opposite experience. My switch works flawlessly automatically switching whenever I turn a device on. I suspect that the other two users have some kind of cable or satellite box attached to the switch and since this box is ALWAYS on (even then it is off) it keeps the switch locked on to its signal and thus will not switch automatically to some other device when it turns on. From past experience I will say that the previous users have some kind of device plugged into the switch that is hogging the "automatic" function of the switch such as a cable or satellite DVR-tuner box. I tried that with a different automatic three-way switch and I noticed that when I had the DISH DVR box plugged into the switch it would [B}NOT[/B] switch automatically to anything else. So, I learned to plug the DISH DVR box into the TV's HDMI-1 port and the three-way automatic switch into the TV's HDMI-2 port for the other devices on that TV. I eventually picked up an iView box and so had three devices on the 3-way switch: the iView box, a Blu-Ray/DVD player, and an Internet video box. Then everything worked just fine, when the TV was switched to the HDMI-2 port the auto switch would switch to whichever box was turned on last. I no longer have such a DVR/tuner box from a cable of satellite provider attached to my system. The second location only has two devices right now, an iView 3500STBII and a DVD player. The interesting think I noticed was that even if I was watching from the iView box and I turned on the DVD player it would then switch from the iView to the DVD player. I don't normally do that. I normally turn off the device I'm finished with and then turn on the other box and the switch has automatically switched to the now turned on device every time. So, I decided to test again the other way around. I put in a DVD and then turned on the iView box to see if the switch would then change to the iView the way it had changed to the DVD, then I tuned off the iView to see it if would switch back to the DVD player. So, with nothing on I turned on the DVD player and the switch responded and I was able to watch a DVD. I then kept the DVD running and turned on the iView box and the switch cut the connection from the DVD and went to the iView box. Last I tuned off the iView box and the TV first showed lost signal and then the switch went back to the DVD player and I was able to continue watching the DVD. I did the same test starting with the both devices off and then turning on the iView box and the switch changed to the iView and I was able to watch the TV station from the iView box, or watch a recorded program on the attached jump-drive plugged into the iView box. I then turned on the DVD player without first turning off the iView box and again there was a brief "no signal" message from the TV and then the DVD started up and I was able to watch the DVD. I then turned off the DVD player and the switch went back to the iView box and I was again watching a TV program. So, as far as I'm concerned this switch works as advertised.
