Dish Network JOEY 3 Client for Hopper (ESJOEY3)

The Joey 3 was purchased as an upgrade from a Joey 2. The Joey 3 is much faster than the Joey 2- almost like having another Hopper 3 - just as fast and stable. The shopping and purchase experience with Solid Signal was great- this is not my first purchase from Solid Signal. The Joey 3 arrived in excellent condition in secure packaging and included the power-supply, latest remote control w/batteries, and a HDMI cable- and included activation instructions. Package tracking and delivery updates were also included. No complaints.

I ordered this with a Hopper 3 (see my review elsewhere on the Hopper 3). As soon as I had the Hopper 3 connected and activated, I connected this Joey 3 with the Hopper 3 and they both linked within a second or two. (I had already installed a Solo Hub in the line), I called Dish Network and they had it activated within minutes. The Joey works perfect with the Hopper 3 and allows me to watch anything (live channels or recorded material) I have on my Hopper 3. It is small and sits right behind the TV in the MBR and the remote is RF so the Joey does not have to be in line-of-sight with the remote. It is a great add-on for someone looking to add another HDTV in another room.

This is an EXCELLENT Dish receiver, HOWEVER, when I called Dish this afternoon on Jan 28, 2025 I was told that there would be a $115.00 charge for Dish to send a tech out a tech to “install” it. I told them there was NOTHING to install as the location in my home had had one there in the past. All that was required was for me to plug it into an AC outlet, connect the coax cable, and the HDMI cable. They then said without them sending out a tech to “install” it, they would NOT activate it even though I was planning on ordering it from Solid Signal. Just wanted to WARN EVERYONE out there how Dish would screw you if you were planning on ordering one‼️
