HAM/electronic tech review

by

Pros: takes signal and boost considerably very impressed with outside antenna bring in service went from -125 to -130 to way better around -100 dbl. Also data speed was faster too. Well constructed all the needed materials and equipment were there. Super easy to install. Cons: price is very high cost me $650 no veterans discount. Also inside antenna could boost inside signal a little high using in 40ft camper set about dead center at approximately 6ft high just covers inside if you step outside to relax at campfire forget it not enough coverage if they came up with a higher indoor I would upgrade as that would be super Also for the price they could use rg-11 for even better signal flow and shielding instead of rg-6 But all in all a top notch product .

Amazing product!

We are about half a mile from 5G this took us from zero signal to being able to actually use our phones! It has completely done its job and if you don't have one you need one.

Cannot recommend enough

We are currently sitting in an RV park that is known for having "no Verizon service." The reviews and front office both stated this. It's true. We had no signal on our phones when we got here with an occasional "1x" and one bar. We put up the antenna and now have 3 bars, and are able to make calls to friends and family as long as we are near the booster. This is not only inside our RV, but outside under the awning as well. In the forests of Idaho's Panhandle, where my parents have terrible Verizon cell signal, we had no issues. Since my husband is a remote worker, daily reliable cell signal is very important. This antenna has certainly made our remote lifestyle possible. We field many questions about it and are always very happy to share our experience with other campers.

upgraded from RV Drive X

I have used the older RV system for a while but with going deeper into the mountains I needed more signal strength. as long as you use the software apps (Open Signal to validate the cell tower to point at) to get the external antenna setup right and have the internal antenna at least 25 feet from the external you are in-great shape. As I don't use external TV access I reused the build in COXAL to make the install nice and clean. I mounted the booster near the TV and tied into the DC power there. For the area I needed this most I had .5MB and -119dBm without any booster. with the older RV and the omni-direction antenna I got 1.5MB and -110dBm, with the new Destination RV I got to 14.5mb and -91dBm. if you are not sure it its working get an app (android to find the signal strength or on the iPhone use the call in number to get it into field test mode.

Setup was easy. I'm sure I will learn more when I get a chance to use it while camping.

Doesn't work

by

I purchased the Destination RV booster directly from Weboost on 5/30/2021. The item was packaged well. The instructions were easy to understand. Installation was not difficult. Unfortunately, the booster does not boost the cell signal. There is existing cell service outside the camper. I was hoping with this booster that I would have it inside the camper as well, but that is not the case. In addition, the booster itself gets extremely hot when plugged in. It's too hot to touch. I made sure the Destination RV model was the correct one for my situation based on the FAQs page of the website and I confirmed with an app that I have the antennas pointing in the right direction. I reached out to customer service and advised them of the issues. They offered to troubleshoot it with me via phone or computer chat when I'm at the RV. I advised them that I don't have cell or internet service in the RV and they accused me of declining their assistance. I asked to return the product and they advised me that I would need to pay shipping, which will be very expensive based on the size of the box with the telescopic pole. I'm stuck with a $600+ fire hazard that doesn't work as promised.
