Blew me away - from the floor

Our house is on the back side of a wooded hill. We suffer from sometimes-patchy reception at night, especially in rain. The Televes 148883 replaces my second HD Stacker from Denny's Antenna Service which was mounted on a ten-foot pole attached to a roof gable. Both worked well for over ten years, but I wanted to try the 148883 for a number of reasons: 1) I no longer need access to low-VHF; 2) to see if the adaptive amplifier would help. The Televes went together easily once I understood the instructions. As the Stacker would be difficult to remove and harder to replace, I tried the Televes on the lounge floor without re-tuning and was surprised to receive all the old stations, albeit somewhat weaker. In place on the 10' pole, all stations are now substantially stronger than before: (virt ch 31) 32->34dB; (19) 23->30; (25) 25->27; (15) 27->27; (34) 36->36. Without power to the amplifier, channels 8 and 10 dropped to the dB teens; the others remained high. I am impressed.

Good At 60 Miles

We are about 60 miles from the antenna farm in the NY Capital District where most of the local channels broadcast. The Ellipse Mix gets them all and more besides. I mistakenly believed all the channels were UHF so I removed the VHF reflectors. Then I discovered one channel transmits on VHF channel 8 so I put them back on. The signal strength for that channel went from 4 bars out of 10 and 20.8 dB to 8 bars and 27.5 dB.

I never write reviews, but I am today. My Televrs Ellipse Mix came out of the box, and went right to work. It received more channels then any other I had in the pass. After more then a year of service it was loosing channels. A quick call to Televes got me to service. Andy was very willing to help. Working with me to correct the problem. Excellent service, and excellent product. Highly recommend it to all.

I live in Livonia MI. It’s not too far from the stations, but the tall trees here cause problems for some channels; especially on windy days. I have tried five different antennas over the last 20 years. This antenna fixes it! Very pleased with the product.
