Description
CCRadio 2E Enhanced AM/FM, NOAA Weather, 2-Meter Ham Band Portable Radio
AM FM Portable Radio Designed for Long-Range Reception and Audio Clarity
The purpose of the CCRadio-2E is to make weak signals strong and also to produce crisp, accurate audio for the spoken word.
AM performance comes from our Twin-Coil Ferrite® AM Antenna and traditional FM reception is exceptional in its ability to bring in a weak station clearly. Audio can be adjusted for accurate, warm voice rendition and good musical performance.
This radio also has the NOAA weather band and alert along with the 2-meter Ham band.
Since the CCRadio's original debut the external design has remained the same but there have been countless revisions inside to improve performance, durability and audio. It is one of the most popular portables manufactured and many experts feel it is the best AM radio made. It has evolved into C. Crane's flagship radio.

Great radio!

Excellent AM receiver.
Decent but not great for just regular FM use.

I really only use this radio for FM listening and weather alerts. Sound quality is decent. The one major complaint I have is that the antenna is pretty flimsey. I broke mine while trying to put it back in a compact position to change out the batteries. I had to order a new one and it was about $15 for the replacement with shipping. If you get this radio, I'd highly recommend going ahead and getting a replacement antenna at the same time so that you don't have to pay for the extra shipping. I wish I had another spare because I have no doubt it will get broken again. I also don't really like that there is no real handle. There is an area at the top that is indented so you can tuck your fingers in there to carry it, but you can't really grab on to it like you could with a regular handle, especially if you have big hands or long finger nails, making it difficult to just grab and go. I would not buy this one again for what I use it for.
The CCRadio 2E Enhanced is great!
by SarcasticDave94
The 2E Enhanced is very good on FM, WX with 3 styles of alerts, and 2 Meter shortwave. I can get FM and WX on the built-in whip antenna. I've only found one 2 Meter active frequency with the built-in. For me, no big deal. I bought it to listen to AM, and to DX the AM/MW with the Twin Coil Ferrite AM antenna. It excels as is. It has external AM terminals that I will soon be pairing it to any AM antenna I get. My first external bought antenna will be the Tecsun AN-48X. As is, I have tuned DX on AM 200, 300, 550 miles away. I'm in south-central PA and got Chicago 860 for about 15 min. the other night before I got interference. I also got XEMO 860 Tijuana Mexico for almost 30 min about 535 miles. That's 2,229 miles. Again with the built-in antenna! This 2E Enhanced has good mono sound out of its 5 speaker. Bass and treble adjustments are useful and do make a difference. I did get a great deal on eBay for a new black 2E Enhanced with free (very quick) shipping I couldn't pass it up.

Great for long distant AM stations
by John A
I like this radio. I will start with the weakest feature. The story gets better. The speaker size is too small. Only 1.25 in diameter. Too small for audio, more suitable for a buzzer or smoke alarm. Harsh and shrill therefore. Not usable. Good audio quality through high quality headphones. Good FM stereo through headphones. Best part: Am stations can be heard hundreds of miles away.
