Check the Signal Strength on Your DIRECTV Satellite Dish
DIRECTV satellite dish setup doesn´t need to be hard. You can program your DIRECTV satelllite dish easily -- your DIRECTV receiver has a built-in meter to help you check your signal strength. It´s not a replacement for a professional quality signal meter, but it can help you diagnose problems. Here´s how to check your DIRECTV signal strength and quality.
Step 1 - Press MENU to enter the DIRECTV signal meter menu system | Start by pressing the {MENU} button. You’ll see the MY DIRECTV menu as shown to the left. |
Step 2 - Check the DIRECTV Dish Signal - Arrow down to Settings and Help | Arrow down to “Settings & Help” and press {SELECT}. |
Step 3 - Press Select on Settings to view the DIRECTV signal strength meter | Then, with “Settings” highlighted, press {SELECT} again. |
Step 4 - Arrow to View DIRECTV Signal Strength | Arrow down to “Satellite” and press {SELECT}. Then, with “View Signal Strength” highlighted, press {SELECT} again. |
Step 5 - View Signal Strength DIRECTV Test Results | You can highlight the + and - buttons to change which satellite you’re looking at and which tuner. It is normal to see zeros or “N/A” on some satellites, but if you see nothing but zeros, or even a lot of zeros or numbers under 70, there is a problem. When you’re done, arrow over to “Done” and press {SELECT.} Then press {EXIT} to return to live TV. |
