The SWM16 gets a feed from the 4-output LNB units (not the ones with the built-in SWM module) and converts that to two SWM8 segments. Internally, there's a DECA bridge so receivers can talk to others on the opposite SWM8 segment. If you need to expand beyond 16 tuners, there are "cascade" ports that allow you to add another SWM8 or SWM16 module.
