Good Purchase

I've owned a Dish Hopper 3 for several years and although it has some issues, it's overall a good receiver. I was surprised to see that purchases made with Solid Signal go through Dish Network and have to be approved by Dish Network before the order is processed. This is actually fine with me there should be no hassles when it comes to activating the receiver.

Be aware that these units, for this price, are most likely Dish remanufactured units. Usually, remanufactured units are a great bargain, but a call to SolidSignal indicated that they get both types and cannot tell because they are already bundled, but logic would dictate that these are remanufactured. However, a Hopper3 is so superior to anything else out there that it is worth the cost to buy a new or remanufactured unit. I am buying this unit for a motorcoach that I spend 6 months a year living in.

Pros: Fast, 16 channel recording at once plus 2 OTA recordings if you have the adapter for 18 channels. Built in software is good, includes a trial to filter language if you have kids. Was easy to install and activate. Did a manual firmware update with no problems. Cons: Having some trouble with Dish Anywhere. But I'm sure the resolution will come. Summary: I go straight from my 1000.2 WA dish into back of Hopper 3. That's it.
