No Wires to Run in Wall.

by

The strange thing about the wireless Hopper is that after it turns on it has to reconnect to the hopper 3. It seems to reduce the output volume on one of our TV's. As far range for connecting with the Hopper I haven't had any real issues. I had to move the Access Point to be in line with our open stairway to get a better signal for one of our bedrooms. Since it's WiFi it reacts a little slow to remote commands but it's not a big deal. The best part about is it is wireless so you don't have to worry have a wall jack.

Wireless Joey

Works great. Very easy to set up.

Why is it called wireless in order for it to work I had to connect the wires?

by

Took a bit to connect to TV but it works well!

Frustrated

I can't get this to connect with my service to get it to work.

Installing the JOEY

by

Installed the Joey with no instructions and found out at the end Dish Network had to activate it. Plus now have to pay $5.00 per month to use it. Works fine.

Extra Joey

Faster than standard Joey

I am using this unit with an Ethernet connection and not the wireless. It works great since all my dish equipment is wired to my home Ethernet network. When I called dish to activate the tech was insisting that the wireless Joey model would only work with the dish network supplied access point and not with the wired Ethernet. After telling him that he was wrong and to just please activate the unit he reluctantly activated the unit. Of course it worked and he was astonished that during his training they (dish) never told them (tech support personnel) that a wired Ethernet connection could be used too. Overall I've been using this unit for about a year and I'm very happy with it.
