Best For
Outdoor over-the-air TV installations that need a large directional antenna for high-VHF and UHF reception.
Why Choose the Winegard HD7698P?
The HD7698P uses a log-periodic/Yagi-style directional design with heavy-duty double-boom construction and zinc-coated elements. It connects directly to 75-ohm coax and is designed for high-VHF and UHF reception rather than low-VHF channels.
Key Benefits
- Directional high-VHF/UHF outdoor TV antenna
- Heavy-duty double-boom construction
- Zinc-coated elements for outdoor durability
- Direct 75-ohm coax connection
- Attaches to a 1.25-inch O.D. mast
- Approximate boom length: 168.25 inches
Who Should Buy the HD7698P?
Viewers who need a large directional antenna and whose desired stations are primarily on high-VHF and UHF frequencies. Actual reception distance depends on terrain, transmitter power, installation height, interference, and local signal conditions.

Expensive, but worth it
by Matthew Fox
I'm about 50 miles from the transmitters in rural, mountainous terrain. The stations we have are fairly powerful, about 100kW, but reception has always been tricky because of the hills. This antenna works great, and I get a strong clear signal with no pixelization or artefacts on every channel we have, from VHF channel 12 all the way up to UHF channel 33. I paired mine with an LTE low pass filter and preamp from Channel Master and have no issues distributing it to multiple TVs.
Little bit of work, liking the result
by Richard McKee
As advertised and happy with the antenna. We are halfway between Boston and Providence and if I split the difference, the antenna pulls in stations from both areas. I also hooked up a preamp and that seems to help some. Gird your loins for a little bit of work to do the install and for trips to the hardware store for parts you didn’t know you needed. I wish the directions were a little more detailed, and it would be helpful if there was a section detailing the parts you will need to both mount and properly ground the antenna and cable. I ultimately found what I needed online.
Great, but very big

Winegard has been at the top of my list for 40 years. Only wish they still made the middle model of this, the HD-7082.
Don’t order the coaxial cable does not come with a weather proof boot.
by Dwight Snow
I ordered the antenna with a coaxial cable. The antenna comes with a weather proof boot. But the cable came with both ends attached so there was no way to use the weather proof boot without cutting it.

IT WORKED BETTER THAN OLD ONE . WE GOT SEVERAL MORE CHANNELS THAN WE HAD. KNOW IF WE TURN IT WILL GET MORE. NOTICE WE R IN A VERY HARD AREA IN NEBRASKA TO GET SIGNAL. WE NEED TO PUT IN A ELECTRIC ROTOR TO MOVE FROM DEFFERENT STATIONS

Pleased

Used along with the Televes single antenna low noise amp. The closest stations available from this remote location exceed the advertised range for the antenna, but the combination of this antenna and the low noise amp give me excellent reception.
clear and consistent
by michael b.
antenna arrived on time and was easy enough to assemble. The antenna collects channels in my area from 48 miles and is clear and consistent. It is very position sensitive.
Nice Antenna

Antenna arrived promptly and works great.
Great for remote mountainous areas.
by Janice Varela
We purchased this antenna hoping to get at least one channel in the valley in the mountains far away from the broadcast towers. We are thrilled to get at least 32 channels without the booster. Waiting to add the booster to see how many more channels will come in.
