HR24 Purchase, Installation and Activation

There were multiple questions that I had with the purchase, but they were handled quickly. We i received the FIRST cable box it had a bad hard drive and called to have it replaced. Customer service went smoothly and besides waiting through several FEDEX delays it finally arrived. Installation went smoothly, but the activation process did not. On hold for several minutes with no answer. Finally called Directv to get it activated. Overall I would purchase another receiver if needed.

Always a pleasure to purchase from Solid Signal...all products are top notch and their wide selection has satellite TV covered thoroughly. These HR24 DVRs are no longer offered by DirecTV, so being able to get them from SS is a godsend. I have no desire to upgrade to Genie when all of the units in my residence are HR24s and continue for the most part to work just fine, and when they don't for whatever reason, it's comforting to know that Solid Signal can quickly and conveniently provide a replacement.

Very happy with this product! DirecTV was trying to force their Genie system down our throats and said we had no other options. Wrong! We ordered 2 of these receivers and they work like a charm! Arrived fast with FedEx ground, too. SignalConnect helped us get our two units up & running in under 15 minutes, which was a welcome change from DirecTV's less,than stellar customer service of the past few years. It seems we are "Legacy" customers and so we always have to be transferred higher up the chain to a rep that can actually help us. So, if you've been with DirecTV for 10+ years, bite the bullet and get your equipment from SolidSignal. You'll save lots of time and you won't have a screaming headache afterward!
