The Superior Essex BBDNe Cat5e outside plant (OSP) cable is designed to provide an extension of the LAN beyond the premises. The core is filled with PFM­T thixotropic filling compound to prevent water ingress. The gel will not drip even in cell tower applications at elevated temperatures. This cable has an aluminum tape shield and features a dry water block between the shield and the core jacket to also prevent water ingress. It is suitable for direct burial applications. This cable is ideal for 10BaseT through 10GBaseT Ethernet, IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet, IEEE802.3at Type 1 and 2 PoE+, ATM and token rings, WiMAX cell towers, and lashed aerial, underground conduit, or low-risk direct burial applications.
