Winegard Platinum High VHF/UHF TV Antenna 60 Mile Range (HD7698P)

Excellent all the way around. Solid signal had the best price on this HD7698 antenna. It was shipped very quickly. I was taking down an existing UHF/VHF/FM model that was installed in the mid 70's that was also a Wineguard product. I was not having any reception issues but rather the install was on top of a 50 foot tower and I could see it was starting to get loose and was wobbling. So I figured rather than to try to repair or secure nearly 50 year old hardware I should just replace it entirely. This new model pulls in a few more stations and while it is designed for UHF/VHF HI which means not for FM radio, I still connected it to my FM stereo and actually have better signal than before! BONUS!

WITH THE WINEGARD HD7698P I AM ABLE TO PULL IN STATIONS FROM NASHVILLE,TN. AND HUNTSVILLE,AL. MY ANTENNA IS MOUNTED ABOUT 25 FEET UP WITH A HIGH GAIN PRE-AMP AND ROTOR. SOME STATIONS I AM NOW RECEIVING,DID NOT COME IN BEFORE, THANK YOU TO WINEGARD AND SOLID SIGNAL,FOR AN EXCELLENT ANTENNA, SINCERELY,RICK,IN TN.

Have install over three hundred of this model. It is truly the best quality / performing antenna available. However Winegard made a huge mistake discontinuing the AP8275 pre Amp. I have had to use a Channel Master now that Does Not impedience match well, causing some missing channels.

Ok did lots and lots of research on buying antenna. Finally talked to the girls at SS and they recommended this antenna for my area. They nailed dead on . We live in a valley deep in the blue ridge mountains of NC. surrounded by tall mountains. The box arrived in prestine condition like it was hand delivered. Opened it up put it together in about 45 minuted everything complete no missing or broken parts. Didn't have time to install on the roof so we put it on the ground behind the house aimed it towards the towers and Bamm! 12 chennels right off the bat. perfect HD quality picture , one tower from over 50 miles away. Next day we installed on the roof, got the 3 foot tripod and 5 ft mast . everything is super solid and very neat and clean. I also ordered the pitch pads and 50 ft. cable. Could not be happier at all. Didn't need a ampliphier or rotor (although I would like a rotor just for giggles : ) Charter cable can Kiss MY A**. never going back. This antenna also looks awesome on the roof, 14 ft. of all USA aluminum standing proud. If you're in doubt which I was by this beautiful antenna. It works. On a home made 30ft 1 1/4" Rigid Conduit mast with a Radio Shack Pre Amp/Booster I'm getting all the channels I was told I wouldn't get!

We have a remote farm and the nearest TV channels are 61 miles away. We installed this new antenna with the new booster and this is the first time we were able to have 5 good local stations. It even rained and the picture never went away. Very happy

The HD 7698P antenna appears to be a but more robust than our previous long range VHF / UHF antennas. Since we don't need VHF low we appear to be set for 60 mile distance to our nearest CBS tower broadcasting VHF high. We do have to point the antenna via the rotor to acquire that station. We haven't had a chance to test it during weather conditions. The locking tabs for some of the elements should be improved or redesigned.

live 40--90--110--140 miles from towers this antenna pulls all but the 140 mile signal 100 % the 140 mile about 85 % best antenna have used -- go winegard !!
